Large cruciform monogram KVPIЄ BOHΘЄI; in quadrants, TⲰ - CⲰ / Δ૪-ΛⲰ ("Lord, help your servant"). Rev. +NIKH/ΦOPⲰ VΠA, / S XAPT, T૪ / ΓЄNIK, ΛO/[Γ]OΘЄ, in five lines. The genikon logothesion was the Byzantine fiscal department, in charge of land assessment and taxation. As chartoularios, Nikephoros was a high-ranking official within this department, possibly the second in command after the genikos logothetes.
